geared tab

geared tab
An auxiliary airfoil linked with the fixed surface ahead of the control surface and geared to move at a set ratio in the opposite (balanced tab) or the same (anti-servo tab) direction to the movement of the flight controls. See also balanced tab and anti-servo tab.
